He was exemplified into the 2nd & 3rd degree on 26/02/2011; 4th degree on 15/01/2016 and into the Noble Order on 15/04/2023. He was 1st Vice-District Commander, of 10th District, KSJI (2018-2019); District Commander, of 10th District, KSJI (2019-2021); 2nd and 1st Vice-President, Kumasi Grand, KSJI (2018-2021; 2021-2023; President of Sunyani Grand Commandery from June 2023.
Brigadier General Professor Daniel Obeng-Ofori is a Professor of Applied Biology and Agricultural Entomology and a distinguished University Administrator. Born in Berekum in the Bono Region of Ghana, Obeng-Ofori obtained GCE O & A levels from Presby Senior High, Bechem and Presby Boys Senior High, Legon, in 1975 and 1977, respectively; BSc. honours degree in Agriculture from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1982 and did his national service at the Agricultural Research Centre, Kade in 1982.
He was appointed Teaching/Research Assistant at the Department of Crop Science, Legon in 1983. He did his MPhil and PhD degrees in Applied Biology and Agricultural Entomology, respectively at the University of Cambridge, UK from 1986 to 1990.
He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Nairobi, Kenya from 1991-1994 where he worked on the chemical ecology of the desert locust. In 1994, Obeng-Ofori won the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship at the Federal Biological Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry and Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany.
He returned to Ghana and joined the Department of Crop Science, University of Ghana, Legon in 1996 as a lecturer. By dint of hard work, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1997, Associate Professor in 2001 and Professor in 2004. Obeng-Ofori was the Foundation Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana from 2012-2016.
He has been the Vice-Chancellor of the Catholic University of Ghana (CUG) since 2016. He led the then Catholic University College of Ghana to obtain the Presidential Charter to become an autonomous University effective 3rd March 2022 and won the Most Respected CEO (Private Universities Category) in 2023.
He was converted to the Catholic Faith by his late wife Rosaline and has three children, Yaganoma, Lynda and Joseph, and is presently married to Monica. Obeng-Ofori was initiated into KSJI at CCCC #625 on 12/01/ 2008 and served as Trustee, and 2nd Vice President before relocating to Sunyani and transferring to St Peter’s Comm. #912 and served as Worthy President from 02/12/2017 to 02/12/2021.

Also a member of Parish Council, CCCC, Sakumono, Accra and OLC, Berlin Top Sunyani; member Project Committee, CCCC, Sakumono, Accra; OLC, Berlin Top, Sunyani; member, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Fiapre. He has been providing generous cash donations to the Church at various events.
