Maj. Gen. William Edmund N.O. Adjei

Biography

Major Gen. William Edmund Nii-Okang Adjei, has been the Supreme Subordinate president from October 2021 to date. He joined the Knights of St. John International as a cadet in 1978.

He is a Knight who has gone through the mill. By dint of hard work, dedication and commitment to the Order, he rose through the ranks in various capacities from his Commandery, Sacred Heart #351 as the president. He became the 3rd District Commander from December 2004 to December 2010.

Major General Adjei became Grandmaster of Archbishop William Thomas Porter’s Chapter of Chevaliers from February 2010 to July 2017.

He played a significant role in the Order beyond the borders of Ghana. He was involved in the inauguration of the Chapter of Chevaliers and Noble Temples in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

From July 2013 to July 2017, he was elected as the president of the Accra West Grand. His leadership in Accra West Grand saw significant growth and footprints of the Order in many parishes.

A product of the St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School and the University of Ghana Business School where he obtained a BSc Hons-Admin in Accounting and an MBA in Finance.

Major General Adjei has had an extensive working life with International Companies from 1990 to date. Among these companies were Coopers & Lybrand, Service & Supply International, BCM International, and Coca-Cola as its Operations Director. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of PWADJEI Services.

Major General, William Adjei has a rich Church life geared towards the service of God and Country. He is a member of St. Kizito Catholic Church in Nima in the Kpehe Deanery of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra where he chairs the Parish Pastoral Council, Laity Council and the Justice and Peace Committee. He also Chairs the Kpehe Deanery Parish Pastoral Council.

He serves on several committees in the Archdiocese of Accra in his capacity as LOC Chair for Diaconate Ordination and Accra Province Laity Council Congress.

Whilst in Coca-Cola, he supported the settling of refugees in Gomoa Buduburam when civil war broke out in Liberia and Sierra Leone and has since been involved with various state interventions in poverty alleviation programmes.

Major Gen. William Edmund Nii-Okang Adjei is married to Noble Sister Frederica Paula Adjei of St. Bernadette Ladies’ Auxiliary #325. They have 3 children all of whom are members of KSJI. Capt.
